I agree with what David Crystal says about English as a global language. It is true That Englis change from one part of the world to another, de to the influence of culture, customs,etc.. Even the Brithish find it difficult to understand the English of other countries, and not precisely because of the vocabulary or pronunciation, but because of the meaning of the setences. In my case, I love travelling abroad and what happened to me was that I had difficulties to understand American English. Something as easy as asking for water it was very difficult for me. I prefer, without a doubt, British English.
